Alumni & Friends

Welcome to the UC Davis Library — and to our alumni, welcome home. As the academic heart of the university, the library is a crossroads where people from every discipline have always come to connect, learn and discover together, cutting across the university’s usual divides.

A gateway to knowledge, today the library provides both a physical and a virtual portal to information and data. We amplify the impact of UC Davis’ intellectual contributions by making the research and data generated here more accessible to the world.

And we share our knowledge — teaching undergraduates to navigate today’s vast sea of information, helping faculty and researchers integrate advanced digital data analysis techniques into their work, and sharing best practices in managing and preserving data that is born digital.

Some of this may sound like the library you know, and some of it may sound new. It is both.

Today, the ways in which people access, use and create information are evolving rapidly, and the library is evolving to meet those needs. We are doing what libraries have always done: helping people access, use and analyze information to generate new knowledge and change the world.

We invite you to explore. Visit. And join us in transforming the library for the 21st century.
