In partnership with alumni and friends, the UC Davis Library is transforming the way in which people access, create and use information. The library invites you to consider making a gift to the one academic resource that serves all students, faculty and staff, across all disciplines.
The library stands as the academic heart, brain, and nervous system of a changing university. Faculty and students are engaged in cutting-edge research and scholarship and they depend on modern, innovative, comprehensive and inspiring library spaces, services and resources to prepare them for academic success.
The ways of giving to the library are as diverse as the opportunities to join us in fulfilling our mission. Donors may choose to support or establish either current use or endowed funds — providing options for funds to be fully expended over a short-term period or for funds to be fully invested and maintained in perpetuity.
The best way to give depends on your life circumstances, your financial goals, and your philanthropic interests. Options include:

Pledges allow donors to promise a gift and make payments over time, which sometimes enables contributors to give more generously than otherwise possible. Payments can be made over a period of up to five years using cash, credit cards, securities or other assets.
Planned gifts are giving arrangements that enable donors to support the library while benefiting from specific tax advantages and income streams.
Gifts of securities, including stocks, bonds and mutual funds, can provide relief from capital gains taxes.
Gifts of tangible personal property or other physical assets – including collections of papers, manuscripts, photos, and more. Direct general inquiries related to gifts-in-kind to the library Collection Strategies office.
Additional ways to give include gifts of real property, or payroll deductions for UC Davis employees.
