Registration is free and easy. All users of Special Collections materials must register as a researcher prior to viewing or requesting materials. Materials in Special Collections are non-circulating and may only be viewed in the Special Collections Reading Room. When accessing the system for the first time you will be directed to logon and then register as a first time user.
The “First Time User Registration for Aeon” page specifies the rules for the reading room, guidelines for handling materials, camera use polices, duplication and other information of interest/use to the researcher. By clicking the box at the bottom of the page you have acknowledged and agreed to all of the terms and conditions above. Your registration remains active for one year, and can be renewed from your Aeon account.
Researchers will also need to bring a current government or academic-issued photo ID when visiting Special Collections in person. For UC Davis affiliates, a current UC Davis photo identification is adequate.
Acceptable forms of government-issued photo ID include a driver’s license, passport, U.S. military ID, permanent resident card, or state identification card.
