The collection includes correspondence with campus officials including Edwin C. Voorhies and Larry N. Vanderhoef; campus historic publications, recollections from Voorhies and Tracy I. Storer, and speeches given by Hardie. Additionally, this collection includes memorabilia from Prince Charles's 1977 visit to UC Davis.

John L. Hardie (1935-2011) was the first full-time manager of the Cal Aggie Alumni Association (CAAA). He also served as an administrator at both the university campus and the UC Davis Medical Center, acting as assistant to both Chancellors Mrak and Meyer.
