Axel provides reference and instruction services and to do this he selects material for the library collections in support of the academic mission of the departments, graduate groups and ORUs of UC Davis. He has over three decades experience with the University of California. He has been in his current position as Post Harvest Subject Bibliographer for almost three decades. Axel has worked on two other UC campuses: Berkeley and Santa Cruz. Prior to becoming a librarian, Axel was a commissioned officer in the US Army serving in Infantry, Cavalry and Armor units with his last duty station as a Observer Controller at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin.
