Michael leads the Scholarly Communications Program, researching and advancing scholarly communications policy, and serving as a resource for the UC Davis community on questions regarding scholarly communications, copyright, and publishing. He has a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law, where his studies focused on copyright and intellectual property law, and a B.A. from Harvard College in Social Studies. He is a member of the California Bar, and has formerly worked as a copyright research fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and served as the Executive Director of Authors Alliance.
