  • In the instructions below Direct Export refers to the direct transmission of records from a database to the EndNote library. Filter Import refers to a two-step process involving the saving of records to the computer desktop and choosing a filter in EndNote to import the records.

Firefox/IE (Direct Export)

  1. Add records to folder by clicking on folder icon with plus sign next to each record.
  2. Select records to transfer by checking the appropriate box and choose Export.
  3. Choose radio button for Direct export to EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager and click Save.

Anthropology Plus (OCLC)
Firefox/IE (Direct Export)

  1. Do your search in the database. You can either click the leftside boxes of citations you want to download into Endnote or you can click the Mark All box at the bottom of the window, which selects all citations in the window.
  2. When done, click Export.
  3. Make sure that the citations you selected are selected for export; you can either export the last ten citations or all marked citations.
  4. Make sure the button marked Export to: EndNote is selected.
  5. EndNote will open, asking you to select the library you want to put the citations into.
  6. Navigate on your hard drive to where it is and click Open.
  7. The Choose an Import Filter window will open. Click the Find by button to the right and go to OCLC. Select the ArticleFirst (OCLC) filter. Click Choose.

Google Chrome (Filter Import)

  1. Mark records by clicking folder with plus sign.
  2. Click Folder View.
  3. Check boxes of records to transfer.
  4. Click Export.
  5. Check radio button for Direct Export in RIS Format.

  6. Then you will be asked which filter to use. Select ArticleFirst (OCLC) filter.

Google Chrome (Filter Import)

  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Export button.
  3. Click radio buttons for records selected and EndNote.
  4. Click on Export button.
  5. Records will download to your computer.
  6. In EndNote, go to File>Import>File.

  2. Click on the Settings link.
  3. Under Bibliography Manager heading select the option Show links to import citations into and choose EndNote in the drop down box.
  4. Click Save.

Firefox (Direct Export)

  1. Click Save link beneath your citation. Follow the prompt to login to your Google email account.
  2. Go to My Library link on left side of page to view saved citations.
  3. Select citations to transfer by clicking check boxes.
  4. Click export icon at top of page.
  5. Select EndNote from drop-down menu.
  6. Follow automatic prompts to transfer references to EndNote library.

Google Chrome (Filter Import)

  1. Click Save link beneath your citation. Follow the prompt to login to your Google email account.

  1. After searching for citations in SciFinder, use checkbox to mark citation(s) to import.
  2. Maximum number of citations that can be saved (imported) at one time is 100.
  3. Click Export link (in upper right, near Save, Print links).
  4. For File Name, enter a name for the file.
  5. For File Type, Choose Tagged Format (*.txt)
  6. Click Export.
  7. Save file to your computer.
  8. Open Endnote, and the library you want the citation(s) imported to.
