UC Library Search: UCD Library Local Catalog Search
Replacing UCD Library Catalog on July 27, 2021, the new UC Library Search enables you to search through all of the University of California libraries’ collections. By selecting the ‘Local Catalog’ setting your search will be limited to items available through the UC Davis libraries. If you Sign in (on top right corner) using your UCD login and Kerberos passphrase, you are prompted with your loan period, can renew books online, and request items that have been checked out to another borrower, or are in storage.

How to access a map in the collection

To request access to one of the maps in the Library’s collection, students should:

  • Identify the map(s) you would like to access in the Library catalog.
  • Locate the call number(s) in the map’s item record. You will need both the title and call number when you arrive for your appointment.

Step 1: Enter your search terms (ex. city of Davis); set your ‘Material Type’ to ‘Map‘; set a date range if desired

Step 2: From your search results list select the Map you would like to access from the Map Room and take down the #Call Number for that Map (ex. MAP G464. D3 P22 2000 .U6)

See our Access and Policies pages for further information about using the collections including instruction on proper care and handling of materials.
