“Learning about these posters led me down paths I could never have imagined, such as making contact with Stanley Mouse, one of the most iconic and influential artists of the psychedelic poster movement.”
—Sarah Grimes
Project Description
Inspired by her encounter with the Counterculture Posters Collection during a class visit to the library’s Archives and Special Collections, Grimes sheds new light on the design and meaning of psychedelic rock posters and their place in the counterculture movement of the 1960s. She analyzed the poster designs, read newspaper articles from the time, and interviewed renowned poster artist Stanley Mouse.
