Get your legs ready for the 13th Amgen Tour of California! The eight-day bicycle race is 654 miles long and covers over 3 miles of elevation gain. There are 17 men’s teams and 15 women’s teams competing, with thirteen countries being represented. The United States alone accounts for fourteen teams; seven women’s teams and seven men’s teams. The United States has won half of all the Amgen Tours of California but hasn’t won since 2013.
Come down to the map room to check out all the locations that the Amgen Tour of California will take place! Out of the seven stages in the men’s race and three stages in the women’s race, half of them take place in the Davis/Sacramento Area! Along with the routes, we will display 3-D plastic relief maps, showing the elevation change over each stage to give you an idea of how much the cyclists’ legs are going to burn. Go team USA!
