Welcome new Aggies to UC Davis

Welcome and welcome back to all the new and returning members of the campus community! With the start of a new academic year there is always a flurry of activity as students jump headfirst into new classes, new surroundings, new activities and new friends. In the midst of all this newness it might be of comfort to know that all new Aggies have felt this way and all returning Aggies strive to welcome the next class. In Special Collections, as home to the University Archives, many publications and serials can be found in designed to welcome freshman and introduce them to life as an Aggie. For example, from 1921-1967 the California Aggie freshman handbook was a rich source for campus history, rules and traditions, such as the freshman “Hello”. The Coed handbook: ’round the clock as an Aggie coed from 1953 provided guidance and suggestions to the new coeds entering campus life. So welcome to UC Davis and please stop by to explore the University Archives and learn about the many varied traditions on campus!
