Regional library facilities are high-density storage sites for the UC Libraries system, housing older and infrequently-used materials. The Northern Regional Library Facility (NRLF) serves the five northern UC campuses, including UC Davis, while the Southern Regional Library Facility (SRLF) serves the southernmost campuses.

UC Davis students, staff and faculty may request delivery of RLF materials using either the local Library Catalog+Articles or the Melvyl catalog.  Items are delivered via the library’s Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service, with article and chapter requests filled by PDF whenever possible and delivery of whole volumes as appropriate. Most requests are filled within two business days.

Unaffiliated users may also access UC Davis-owned materials stored at the NRLF. Users should contact library ILL staff to initiate these requests.

Special Collections materials stored at NRLF must be requested through the Special Collections Request System (Aeon) and used in the UC Davis Library Special Collections Reading Room during normal operating hours.

Users are also welcome to visit the RLFs in-person and access materials on-site. Additional information to assist with your visit is available online.
