VIAF is a joint project of several national libraries, implemented and hosted by OCLC. The project’s goal is to lower the cost and increase the utility of library authority files by matching and linking the authority files of national libraries, and then making that information available on the Web.
C.300 English-language reviews of some 500 European reference titles. Much of the content consists of abstracts in English of reviews that originally appeared in the German journal Informationsmittel:IFB, edited by Klaus Schreiber of the Württembergische Landesbibliothek, Stuttgart. German-language publications predominate, but titles in French, Icelandic, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, and
Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA) indexes more than 500 core journals, more than 50 priority journals, and 125 selective journals; plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more.
