UC Mass Digitization Projects

Heather Christensen of the UC California Digital Library recently gave a talk at UCDavis about mass digitization projects at the UC libraries. Large parts of the University of California's library collections have been scanned in digitization projects done in partnership with Google Books, Microsoft, and the Open Content Alliance; Christenson discussed these projects, how to access the newly online books, and what steps are being taken to preserve this massive digital output. These projects include specialty collections; for instance, digitized items from UCDavis include the Bulletin of the California Division of Mines and Geology and the Bulletin of the California Department of Water Resources.

The talk was sponsored by the Librarians Assocation of the University of California, Davis (LAUC-D).
